Hello, I’m Anj Cairns,

Diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) at the age of 51, my life turned upside down.

Until then, by many people’s standards, I was a success. With the job title of CEO, a flat in London, friends and a busy social life, I’d run five marathons, written three novels and lived overseas. My friends referred to me as kind, sparkly and overachieving.

But what they didn’t see were my struggles to keep up with work, stay organised and manage my strong emotions. The strategies I developed to be ‘normal’ were exhausting and led to periods of burnout.

‘Talking through things & coming up with management strategies with someone who genuinely understands how my brain works was so eye-opening & such a relief.’

I could see my trusty coping mechanisms no longer worked. In fact, the things I’d come to rely on to ‘fit in’ and ‘succeed’ were the very things holding me back.

I had so many questions – Who was I? What did I want? How could I be more sparkly, emotional me, while holding down a job, paying the bills and not being ‘too much’?

ADHD coaching helped me realise I’d been trying to fix myself when I wasn’t broken. Instead, I’d been trying to fit into a world which wasn’t designed for the way my brain worked.

Coaching helped me find ways to explore how my wonderful brain works, discover my strengths and bring my ideas to life. It gave me back my sparkle.

Because of my experiences, I’m passionate that all ADHDers deserve the chance to find their strengths, sense of belonging and sparkle.

‘Anj’s energy and positive outlook is super infectious.’
